The NHS Education for Scotland e-Portfolio project started in August 2005 and has flourished with over 20 versions available now for over 35,000 medical trainees across the United Kingdom.

The Welsh Deanery (PGMDE Wales) is contributing to this project by developing a reflective practice component that enables trainees to use reflective practice effectively. The component allows trainees to diarise their experiences as trainee doctors. They can then combine these entries and reflect on them to illustrate their professional progression.

The component will be piloted with trainees in ABMU Trust in early 2009.
